Description This course dives into Africa's multiple cultural aspects within the global context, examining historical, social, and current influences that shape its different civilizations. It blends prominent cultural frameworks such as Hofstede's dimensions in a unique way, providing students with analytical tools for analysing power hierarchies, individualism-collectivism, and other issues in African settings. The course, which emphasises critical viewpoints, uses interactive lectures, workshops, and group projects to immerse students in Africa's cultural identity. The lectures examine the development of African civilizations and provide historical context. Workshops and tasks provide students with hands-on experience, enabling them to analyse cultural interactions utilising frameworks. This dynamic method seeks to build a comprehensive awareness of Africa's cultural diversity and its global consequences, rather than just imparting information. Finally, students receive a transforming understanding of cross-cultural sensitivity, better prepared them to handle various global situations.
